Welcome to Baby and Binky's Home Page!

We're rescue dogs! Straight from the cages of the Kentucky Humane Society, Louisville, Kentucky.

Hello. I'm Baby, a Brittany mix. THEY say I'm part collie too. I definitely have a collie nose. I'm spotted -- liver and white. My favorite things to do are sleeping on beds, going on walks, and eating peanut butter and dog biscuits in my Kong toy.

My master brought me home in July 1994. Fluffy was living with us then. He was a hard-headed cock-a-poo. I guess when you're thirteen, you can be hard-headed. When Fluffy died, my master went back to the Humane Society and picked out Binky.

I went to my first agility class last Sunday. I learned to climb the A-frame, and jump over the jumps. I hated the tunnel, though. My mom learned that I'll do anything for a hotdog!

Hello. I'm Binky. Every Baby needs a Binky to play with! I came home in June 1995. I'm a black and white Border Collie. I'm a very mellow fellow, a real couch potato. That's not typical of us Border Collies. Part of my problem has been my hips. I was born with severe canine hip dysplasia. We Border Collies can inherit that stuff. It hurts.

Fortunately, I have a kind master. She paid for two femoral head ostectomy operations. This is where part of my femoral bone is removed. Since I have no hip joint, the bones don't rub together now and I don't hurt. I'm now able to run after the Frisbee and attack Baby. Since I weigh 50 pounds and stand taller than the Babe, she's not happy about my recovery!

On April 20, my mom took me to see sheep. Couldn't figure out what those little critters were at first. They had the nerve to chase me down the field. What an embarrassment. After a rest, I got to watching the other dogs. One was a funny looking creature like a Star Wars Wookie. He wasn't pretty and black and white like the rest of us. Anyway, I figured out I was supposed to CHASE them, so when I got my chance, I circled them. My mom said she was really proud. I acted like a REAL border collie.

We'd like to urge all of you to obtain your new pet from the Humane Society or a rescue organization. Many dogs and cats need homes.

BTW, three cats live in our house. Mickey  is a pretty calico cat, who was rescued from a riding stable. She's fun because she doesn't have front claws! Then there's

Bugsy . She's got claws and long gray hair. She thinks she is special because she won a blue ribbon at a cat show.
The third cat just arrived this summer. Her name is Little Kitty. That's because we couldn't think of a name. She lost part of her tail somewhere. She's not afraid of anything, but is good to play with.
